Results of the Initial Survey on LGBT Individuals in Macau

The Macau LGBT Rights Concern Group released a first survey on the condition of LGBT rights and society in Macau, which found that they are facing widespread discrimination, isolation and even verbal abuse.The survey found that 20 percent of respondents thought about taking their own lives. Activists called for a more open and inclusive society, including supportive measures by the government and NGOs, as well as legislation to protect people with different sexual orientations.
